A coffee trailer built to come inside.
A custom coffee trailer designed for an apartment-building lobby in New Jersey, just outside New York City.
Almost Home General had a different destination in mind for its coffee trailer: inside an apartment building. The idea brought the character of a standalone café into the lobby, creating a welcoming place to stop for coffee close to home.
The Hudson Trailer Company planned the build around both the coffee operation and the space it would occupy—from the equipment inside to the entrance it needed to pass through.

Designed for the space
Before finalizing the trailer’s exterior dimensions, The Hudson Trailer Company visited the property to measure the entrance doors and designated alcove. Access was part of the design from the beginning.
The finishes were developed to complement the building’s interior: a matte-white exterior, black lower cabinetry and a live-edge walnut serving shelf chosen to work with the lobby’s existing furniture. Decorative sconces helped give the trailer the presence of a café within the larger room.

A working café in a compact footprint
Inside, the layout accommodated an espresso machine, batch brewer and grinders, alongside refrigerated draft beverage service, an ice well, sinks and onboard plumbing.
The Hudson Trailer Company coordinated equipment placement with the electrical and plumbing systems, creating a compact workspace around Almost Home General’s coffee service.

From the workshop to the lobby
The Hudson Trailer Company coordinated transport and installation into the building. The move required the front double doors and their hinges to be removed for clearance, with the serving shelf and lighting planned for installation once the trailer was positioned inside the alcove.
The finished project shows another possibility for a custom coffee trailer: a distinctive indoor café that becomes part of a residential property’s everyday experience.
