What is a coffee trailer?

Your own café, with the freedom to take it places. A coffee trailer brings a dedicated workspace, professional equipment and your brand together in a towable mobile coffee shop.

The Hudson Trailer Company builds custom coffee trailers around your menu and style—from the espresso setup and refrigeration to the counters, storage and service window. Every detail helps create a café that customers recognize and a space you enjoy working in.

Why choose a coffee trailer over a traditional coffee shop?

Build a following without being tied to one storefront. A mobile coffee trailer lets you explore different locations, establish a regular neighborhood stop or bring your café to weddings, markets and private events.

You can shape the business around the opportunities that suit you: morning coffee service, corporate bookings, weekend festivals—or a mix of all three. Your trailer brings the workspace, atmosphere and branding with you.

Let’s talk coffee trailers.

How much does a custom coffee trailer cost?

Our 14-foot coffee trailers start at $46,000, and our 17-foot models start at $48,000. Every base includes plumbing, electrical, lighting, cabinetry, countertops and a service window.

Fully equipped builds typically range from $56,000–$85,000, depending on your equipment, finishes and customization. Choose the features that suit your business, with clear pricing as you build your package.

What equipment should I include?

Start with your menu. Espresso drinks, cold brew, pastries and blended drinks each call for a different setup.

We help plan your coffee trailer around the equipment you’ll use—from espresso machines and grinders to refrigeration, water filtration, storage and workspace—so everything has its place before construction begins.

Can I choose my espresso machine?

Absolutely. We feature La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Rocket Espresso and Estella Caffé, and can also accommodate your preferred machine.

We plan its plumbing, filtration and electrical requirements as part of the build, giving your coffee setup the support it needs.

How long does a build take?

Typical build time is 16–20 weeks, depending on your design and equipment. Your place on our schedule and appliance availability also affect the delivery date. Share your target opening date early so we can discuss timing with you.

How much does a coffee trailer weigh?

Smaller builds may weigh around 3,500 pounds, while a fully equipped 17-foot trailer may weigh 4,500 pounds or more.

Your equipment and options affect the final weight. We can discuss your planned build so you can select a tow vehicle with the capacity for the trailer, equipment, water and supplies you’ll carry.

How is the trailer powered?

We plan the electrical system around your coffee equipment and where you intend to operate. Shore power, a generator or a suitable battery setup may be options, depending on your power needs.

Your espresso machine, refrigeration and heating or cooling determine whether a 30-amp or upgraded 50-amp system makes sense.

Where can I take my coffee business?

Think weekday stops at office parks, weekend farmers markets, weddings, festivals and private bookings. A mobile coffee trailer gives you the flexibility to develop regular locations and explore new opportunities.

Choose the settings that fit your business, then confirm the permissions and local requirements for each location.

What if I’m operating in California?

Tell us early so we can plan your trailer for its intended location and use. Our California upgrade includes features such as a self-closing service window, coving and an air curtain.

We’ll review the requirements you provide and incorporate the relevant features into your build.

Can you build to my health department’s requirements?

Yes—we design around the requirements you provide for your operating location and can supply CAD drawings for plan review.

Bring us your local checklist early. Planning those details alongside your menu and equipment helps keep your build moving toward opening day.
